Private Lesson Policies

  • Can I bring a friend?

Private lessons are a great option for friends, date nights or family bonding! We recommend that if you’re bringing a friend, you consider a 1.5 hour or double-the-fun (2 hour) lesson so that you both get plenty of time on the wheel. There is a small additional fee for a second student.

For more than one friend, we recommend a private workshop - that lets us gather all the supplies and instructors we need to ensure eveyone has a great time.

  • Rescheduling

We appreciate you reaching out to your instructor to cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice.

If it is less than 24 hours before your lesson, please text or call your instructor to reschedule. If you can’t reach your instructor, you can text Elaine at 828-372-2529 to coordinate.

  • Safety and Guidelines

Closed-toe shoes and comfortable, pottery-friendly clothing are recommended.

Wheel classes may not be appropriate for younger students, the instructor reserves the right to convert a lesson to handbuilding.

Students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Finished Pieces

Completed pieces are usually ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after your class. This allows time for thorough drying, firing, glazing, a second firing and preparing your pieces to go home.

Participants will be notified when their items are ready. Shipping can be arranged for an additional fee. Pieces left without communication or pickup for more than 1 month will be donated.

  • Scheduling and Payment

Private lessons are scheduled directly with each instructor. Payment is generally due at the time of your appointment to allow for maximum flexibility. Special arrangements can be made to pay in advance, just ask!
